“My architectural practice is definitely not what you expect from a Swiss architect,” explains Leopold Banchini at the library of a record company in Geneva, for which he designed the interior. “Although I admire the long and beautiful tradition of Swiss architecture, I consciously try to distance myself as far from it as possible. That is at all levels: the type of projects, the type of clients, the location of the projects and also the economic model of my office.
FOCUS ON LIGHT AND IMMATERIAL
Architecture, connected as it is with building, is anything but immaterial. You could regard architecture as an attribute that is intangible in a building, as an aspect that is elevated to more than justconstruction. Nonetheless, it must eventually take the form of substance.

Gruppo Fon Architetti must have faced an almost impossible task: there was virtually no budget for the renovation and extension of the Citta dell'Arte e della Musica. What is more, the building had to stand out as a meaningful place for the local community of the northern Italian city of Udine.
